We'd Like to Teach the World To Sign
How wonderful would it be to communicate in more than one language? We have designed a user friend class that teaches sign language as a universal language whether you want to learn the beautiful gestures of American Sign Language (ASL) along with the compatible signs in Sign Exact Englilsh (SEE).
Many people, especially in the education system, perfer Sign Exact English (SEE). By and large, the deaf commuinty embraces American Sign Language.
It is not our misson so take sides, only to increase non-verbal communication between the deaf, the hard of hearing, and the hearing community. Therefore, we have designed a class for consumers and their family members teaching the signs that are the same in both ASL and SEE.
You will be able to communicate with your instructor online while the class is being conducted, as well as be able to see the language on line as we go through the most commonly used signs in ASL and SEE. If you would like to practice in the mean time, may I suggest these two online ASL Dictionaries?
Want to sign up? Our classes are free to consumers, and it is very easy to become an ABLE Center Consumer. If you have a disability that effect a major area of your life (like hearing) a few quick minutes and we'll have you enrolled. As a consumer, you may bring one family for free.
Classes will be every Tuesday in April from 5:15 p.m until 6:30 p.m.
